Dog [LAB]02

Digital artist France ‘Cyberdoll’ Cadet was in residence at UWE in 2005 to develop a new multi-robot installation.

Digital artist France ‘Cyberdoll’ Cadet developed a new installation at the Intelligent Autonomous Systems Lab at UWE from October 2005 onwards. France was constructing a multi-robot installation called Dog[LAB]02 – a series of different robotic animals made by hacking popular cyber-toys.

The piece raised questions about the opportunities and dangers presented by contemporary experiments in biotechnology such as cloning. The residency was a result of a grant secured by UWE from the Leverhulme Trust.

France presented the work in progress in February 2006 at Watershed.

Ended in October 2005
