Join us as we welcome and hear first hand from our New Studio Artists in Residence, the wonderful Bristol based, Action Hero and the cacophony of sound that is Manchester based, Noise Orchestra.

Pitch Us a Talk

Every Friday we offer free, informal lunchtime talks from people sharing projects, process, ideas and provocations around pervasive media and creative technology. If you or someone you know should be a part of our programme, contact Martin O'Leary.

Gemma Paintin and James Stenhouse, known collectively as Action Hero will be talking about their project, Oh Europa, which involves them moving out of their Bristol home, into a motorhome and travelling across Europe in search of love songs. With an ambitious plan to collect a love song from every country, just how will they do it?

David Birchall and Vicky Clarke of Noise Orchestra, make DIY electronic instruments that translate light into noise. Together they are creating SWARM as part of their residency; a guided sound walk that will create a city symphony like no other. And they've even promised to let the audience have a play after the talk.

This Lunchtime Talk is part of Open Studio Friday, which takes place at the Studio every week.

Do you want to find out what is going on at the Pervasive Media Studio? Are you interested in meeting our residents, talking about a specific project or curious about pervasive media? Why not pack a sandwich and join us for one of our Lunchtime Talks and Open Studio Friday. Lunchtime Talks are informal presentations by Studio residents and associates. They normally take place at 1pm on Friday, are free and open to everybody who’s interested in what we do. After the Talk, we also invite you to stay with us for the afternoon to continue the conversation or work on your own projects. We provide chairs, tables, wireless and a great space. You bring what you need to work with (laptop/mobile). Our open afternoons close at 5pm. Let us know if you’d like a tour of the space and we'll be happy to show you around just before the talk. Make Shift Meetup
