Meet the AniBotics Robot Elephant Toy

Drop-in

Please note: This event took place in Aug 2022

Come and meet a cute elephant robot toy at this free family drop-in activity hosted by Pervasive Media Studio residents AniBotics.

The team at AniBotics are bringing their prototype elephant robot to the Café & Bar for families to meet. Find out more about how the robot works, what went into making it, and how the elephant is coded. There will also be an opportunity for children to draw their favourite animals, perhaps inspiring the next robot animal AniBotics make next!

The elephant robot is a toy aimed at children aged 5 to 11, but all ages are welcome. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The drop-in is open from 13:00 - 18:00 in the Café & Bar - we recommend visiting the robot before or after the 14:30 screening of animated treasure The Tale of Princess Kaguya. Why not also join us for lunch - see the menu here.

About AniBotics

AniBotics (animals + robotics) is developing a fun range of educational animal robots that work interactively with human characters, with the aim of educating primary aged children about our natural world, in a way that doesn't seem like learning. They support and work with animal charities to help build an understanding of the animals depicted in their robots. AniBotics will be sharing their first product - a small robotic elephant - for research with families across Bristol through the summer of 2022 and then in schools in the autumn.
