In this Lunchtime Talk, Jonny Crew and Kyle Ramsey are going to share techniques used in sound design for their animated documentaries. They will also share finding from a MyWorld Fellowship in Residence with Wounded Buffalo Sound Studios that explored using various spectral processing techniques to manipulate animal sounds.

About Kyle and Jonny

Kyle Ramsey is a programmer and educator who works with audio, physical computing, and interactive design. Currently based at the SpatLab, an immersive multichannel sound studio at the Royal College of Art. He releases software underneath the name Trencrumb.

Jonny Crew is a sound editor and designer at Wounded Buffalo Sound Studios, whose stock in trade is Natural History/Wildlife documentary series (Planet Earth, Blue Planet, EarthSounds), but also animation, in particular Prehistoric Planet and Walking with Dinosaurs.
