In a red-tinted workshop, several people crouch around large sheets on the floor, focused on a project beside equipment and circular artwork.

Spooky Family Creative Technology Workshop

Workshop

Pervasive Media Studio

This October half-term, we're excited to invite young people aged 8-14 and their grownups to join us for a special halloween-themed workshop where you'll get to create a spooky character with cardboard with Richard Sewell from Airgiants.

This hands on session will explore building all types of creepy things and adding your own sound effects. Think growling gnashing teeth, or a swift zombie defeating sword - or even a creepy spindly spider. You'll learn about construction and build techniques as well as adding some simple technology to add sound effects.

About Richard

Richard Sewell is a Pervasive Media Studio Resident a roboticist, software engineer, maker of many things, and a co-founder of  Airgiants. He's interested in the simple pleasures to be found in interactions between people and machines, in experience design, in touch-based experiences, in play and in invitations to play. He's also interested in robots of all sort, in tools and gizmos and technical trickery.
