Talk

Please note: This event took place in March 2017

Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio. They normally take place at 13:00 on a Friday, are free and are open to everybody who is interested in what they do. Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.

Using The Space As An Instrument

In this Lunchtime Talk Sleepdogs are introducing an early-stage project called SUPERNOVA: a one-on-one theatre experience that imagines you are in the presence of a star on the edge of explosion; using the heat of close-up stage lighting and an all-enveloping soundtrack made from manipulated NASA recordings.

Sleepdogs is a collaboration between director / producer Tanuja Amarasuriya and writer / composer Tim X Atack. They make fictions for theatre, screen and audio; mixing and matching influences and processes across different forms. Their most recent show Dark Land Light House, a sci-fi for theatres, played to sold-out audiences at Bristol Old Vic in 2016.

The Pervasive Media Studio is located within the Watershed building. Let us know if you'd like a tour and we'll be happy to show you around. Send an email to studio@watershed.co.uk
