Family Printing Press Workshop

Workshop

Please note: This event took place in April 2017

We’re delighted to welcome the whole family to this free, drop-in printing press workshop in the Café/Bar, inspired by the archive footage of one of our Easter family films Britain on Film: Railways.

Guided by the experienced hands of Nick and Ellen at The Letterpress Collective, you and your family can print postcards and train tickets on some very special printing presses including an Adana 8x5" printing press fixed to the back of a purpose built bicycle as well as a small proofing press. We will also have some vintage Bristol train and dock related blocks and print on display showing you what the city looked like when trains used to run right through it.

Come along to have a go for free anytime between 10.00 and 12.00 in the Café/Bar. After the workshop you can grab a delicious lunch (kids menus available) in our Cafe/Bar and head to the Railways film at 13.00 - book your tickets online or at the Box Office.

This workshop is most suitable for adults and children aged 6-11 but participants of all ages will be welcomed aboard! All children must be accompanied by an adult.
