Please note: This event took place in March 2018
Lunchtime Talks are a series of informal presentations at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio. They normally take place at 13:00 on a Friday, are free and are open to everybody who is interested in what they do. Come along, bring a sandwich, and get to know more about the Studio community, current and up-coming projects, or residents' work.
In this special Lunchtime Talk we will be joined by three of the founding residents of Bristol VR Lab, a brand new shared workspace for companies exploring virtual, augmented and mixed reality.
We will be hearing from:
Rachel Godfrey - GoVirtually
GoVirtually produces 360 degree 3D virtual tours which allow you to virtually walk around a building. Recently, Rachel has been looking into how these tours can help autistic individuals visualize a space before visiting.
Nick Inoue - SubStrike®
Substrike enhance the experience of music and media through cutting edge haptic technology. Nick has created a haptic chair that sends infrasonic vibrations through your body as you experience sound and motion in VR.
Rollo Wood - Biome Productions
Biome's goal is to harness Virtual Reality and 360° film to transfer viewers from their living room and into the wild. They wholeheartedly believe that the most emotive and visually stunning stories are told by nature itself.
Watershed is one of the founding partners of Bristol VR Lab, along with UWE Bristol, University of Bristol and Opposable Group, and we have been working closely with the team as they put together this exiting new space. We are really looking forward to introducing some of the Lab residents to our own resident community and lunctime talk audience.
The Pervasive Media Studio is located within the Watershed building. Let us know if you'd like a tour and we'll be happy to show you around. Send an email to studio@watershed.co.uk
