Anim18: A Celebration of British Animation

Workshop

Please note: This event took place in Aug 2018

Who Framed Roger Rabbit creator Richard Williams lives in Bristol and was a pioneer in creating larger than life movement and characterisation in his animations. To celebrate our special 30th anniversary screenings of the film this weekend, we’re inviting cartoon fans of all ages to join us for a hands on drawing workshop with illustrator and cartoonist Jasmine Thompson, assisted by multidisciplinary artist Mikael Techane - a huge anime fan. We’ll provide all the materials, all you need to do is turn up and get designing and drawing!

This free drop-in activity on Fri 17 Aug from 10:00 - 12:00 is most suited to ages 6-11 and their families, though we encourage people of all ages to come along.

Jasmine Thompson is a young illustrator, cartoonist and mural maker based in Bristol and is one of our Rife Magazine alumni. Mikael Techane is a young Bristol-born artist interested in illustration, spoken word and film. He is one of Rife’s current in-house journalists and content creators - read about his love of anime in his recent Rife article.
