Freelancer Fortnight

Freelancer Fortnight

Season

Please note : this season finished in Sept 2022

Calling all freelancers - join us for a fortnight (Tue 6 - Fri 16 Sept) of free workshops and events to develop your skills, meet new people, and share plans and progress.

As we wrap up The Future is Collective (a Watershed programme propelling community and climate activism by offering support and development to freelance creatives), we are excited to host this Freelancer Fortnight in the Pervasive Media Studio.

The opportunities in the Fortnight are open to all freelancers at all stages in their careers, and from any art-form, however we are particularly interested in meeting people who have climate or community activism within their practice. Take part in workshops in values in the creative industries, how to talk about yourself and your creative work, and come to a facilitated Producer Meet Up.

As well as the events below, you can visit the Studio for Open Studio Fridays, or either of the Lunchtime Talks happening during the fortnight (the talk on Fri 9 Sept is TBC, the one on Fri 16 Sept is Building a Martian House: Interiors).

For information on booking 1:1 producing, budget and strategy surgeries or informal chats, please see the Studio website.

To attend the workshops, please RSVP by email to talentdevelopment@watershed.co.uk.

Bursaries

We recognise that taking time away from other work for professional development affects a freelancers ability to create income so we are offering a limited number of £50 bursaries for people experiencing financial barriers to participating. Please let us know in your RSVP if you'd like to request a bursary which will be paid to you after attendance at the workshop.
