We are delighted to welcome some incredible individuals to our leadership team and Board this month.
Watershed is made by its people and we are delighted to welcome some incredible individuals to our leadership team and board this month.
Akshara Pulpa and Rachael Burton have joined us as Co-Directors of Regenerative Futures and will be part of Watershed’s Executive team.
Bringing expertise in architecture, heritage buildings and retrofit - Akshara was nominated for RIBA Rising Stars 2023. Rachael returns to Watershed from Careful Industries, bringing expertise in careful convening and producing. Alongside Rachael's role with us she is also working with the Wealth Hackers Initiative and Partners for a New Economy.
Akshara and Rachael will lead Watershed Wild and Generous – our ambitious programme to retrofit and repair our building through a place-led redevelopment that balances the changing needs of the organisation whilst adapting to the impacts of the climate crisis. They will be working with our trustees, staff, stakeholders, communities and neighbours to deliver a sustainable, equitable and values-driven public space development.
Clare Reddington, Watershed CEO says:
“We are so delighted to welcome Akshara and Rachael to the team – their mix of experience will bring great depth and insight to our exciting futures project, finally taking it from dream to reality in a way that is highly aligned with our values”
Alongside these new Executive appointments, we are also delighted to welcome three new Trustees to the Watershed Board; Louise-Marie Davies is the Headteacher of Bedminster Down School, one of the largest comprehensive schools in South Bristol, and brings a background in fundraising, film making and education.
With a PhD that sits at the intersection of feminism, social policy and design – Daniella Jenkins has worked for large corporates, was Executive Director of Women of the World and is currently Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Innovation at University of Bristol.
Finally, Bashir Noor, Director at Deloitte in Bristol, joins us as Chair of our Finance Group. A qualified accountant, he has clients across the world and also brings a background in hospitality.
As Watershed Trustees they have the overall legal responsibility for our group of companies including the registered charity. The Board ensures that Watershed has a clear strategy and our work and goals are in line with our charitable purpose. Whilst our Board is not involved in the day to day running of our charity it’s a crucial place for honest feedback, careful insight and moral support.
Welcome team!
