What if a local community could step inside the future of its neighbourhood and shape it together?

In this talk, Jessica Warren (Hoffmann) will share how Future Places Toolkit, a Bristol-based social venture, is reimagining planning consultation by combining immersive technology with expert facilitation to help communities, planners and built-environment professionals shape places together. 

She will discuss a recent collaboration with Bristol City Council, using arts, culture and immersive technology to explore neighbourhood visioning in South Bristol. She will explore the company’s approach to enabling more diverse communities to meaningfully participate in local placemaking and decision-making.

About Jessica

Jessica Warren (Hoffmann) is Co-Artistic Director of Uninvited Guests theatre company and a resident at the Pervasive Media Studio. She is Co-Director of Future Places Toolkit, alongside residents Paul Clarke and Duncan Speakman, and Jack Norris from Zubr.

    Access

    Lunchtime Talks take place in the Pervasive Media Studio Event Space. To access the Studio, please go to the Main Watershed Box Office entrance and go upstairs to the Café & Bar. Walk across the cafe bar, turn right and walk towards the double doors. Go through into the corridor and walk all the way down until you reach the Studio. A member of staff will sign you in, and check your ticket, if you have booked.

    The Studio is wheelchair accessible, and the events space has a hearing loop. The last talk of every month is BSL interpreted.
