"From an early age Bazin displayed a love of books and ideas, and a passion for nature and animals" - Dudley Andrew

20th Century Flicks is one of the oldest video rental stores in the world and it stands today a contemporary archive that houses more than 20,000 films, and whose knowledgeable staff and resident cat, Poppy, continue to share Bazin's love of ideas and passion for animals with the people of Bristol.

Building on the cinema activism and criticism of André Bazin, join 20th Century Flicks’ Daisy Steinhardt and David Taylor as they embark upon an illustrated journey through their extensive collection of films to explore the legacy of a film and animal lover. Expect clips, anecdotes, recommendations and great conversation in the surrounds of a mini cinema and library of rare VHS.
