Bristol Palestine Film Festival 2016
Please note : this season finished in Dec 2016
The Bristol Palestine Film Festival, now in its sixth year, returns with a range of documentaries and feature films (some never seen before in the UK) that provide a unique insight into life in and around Palestine, told through the eyes of Palestinian and other international directors.
The Festival kicks off on Fri 8 Dec with pitch-black comedy thriller Love, Theft and Other Entanglements, about a bumbling car thief who is having a very bad day. On Saturday we take a Trip Along Exodus, with director Hind Shoufani’s look into 70 years of Palestinian history via the life of her father, Dr Elias Shoufani. Hind Shoufani will be here for a Q&A after the screening.
Sunday starts with Oriented, an engrossing documentary that redefines what it means to be gay, Palestinian and living in Israel, and is followed by 3000 Nights, a poetic and raw allegory of freedom under occupation.
As well as the screenings at Watershed the Festival also takes place at other venues across Bristol, including the Baggator (The Pickle Factory) in Easton and The Arts House in Stokes Croft. Take a look at bristolpff.org.uk for the full programme.
