Bristol Palestine Film Festival 2017

Season

Please note : this season finished in Dec 2017

The Bristol Palestine Film Festival - now in its seventh year - returns with a range of features and short films that provide a unique insight into life in and around Palestine, told through the eyes of both Palestinian and other international directors.

The Festival kicks off on Fri 8 Dec at 18:00 with fiery musical drama Junction 48, starring Palestinian rapper Tamer Nafar, and the music theme will continue with night of music at the Exchange. Join us for music from 47SOUL, whose mix of Dabke (traditional Palestinian street music and dance) with electronic beats make a much-anticipated visit to Bristol.

Next up is Personal Affairs (Sat 9 Dec 18:00), a bitingly funny debut looked at the lives of an intergenerational Arab family living around the world, and poignant documentary Off Frame aka Revolution until Victory (Sun 10 Dec 15:00), which weaves together found and archival footage to trace the tumultuous history of Palestine and Palestinian filmmaking.

The weekend draws to a close with another chance to see In Between (Sun 10 Dec 18:00), which brilliantly depicts the lives of three women in Palestine and their struggles to balance the restrictions imposed on them by their friends and family.

As well as the screenings at Watershed the Festival also takes place at other venues across Bristol, including The Cube. Check out bristolpff.org.uk for the full programme.
