A special celebration of 10 Years of Deaf Conversations About Cinema at Watershed
Deaf Conversations about Cinema is Watershed’s monthly film club designed for Deaf hard-of-hearing, and hearing audiences to discuss films in a welcoming environment.
In June 2026 we celebrated 10 Years of Deaf Conversations About Cinema at Watershed, with an afternoon of screenings and Q&As - featuring a locally made documentary Echoes of the Past which documents Sandra Bent’s search into their family history using a Deaf genealogist in the hope of uncovering a further Deaf generation. They discover fascinating new facts about their ancestors and how Deaf people lived in the past.
This was followed by A Quiet Love, an Irish documentary that follows three Deaf couples' journeys.
