Katsuhiro Otomo's landmark cyberpunk classic obliterated the boundaries of Japanese animation and forced the world to look into the future. Akira's arrival shattered traditional thinking, creating space for future generations of ground-breaking movies.

We'll be screening Akira in the original Japanese language with Subtitles (S) and in the English dubbing (D). Check below for further information.

The Fri 17 April 21:00 screening will be introduced by 16-19 Film Club Co-Host and a Japanese Punk cinema enthusiast Jojo Myers-Insole. 

The Thu 23 April 17:40 screening will be introduced by Watershed staff member and Akira fan Allie Quinn.
