Welcome to the new Watershed website! It’s been a long time coming. More than five years, to be exact. What was wrong with the old one, you may wonder. It was dated. It was becoming unwieldy. It had teeny tiny text. But most of all, it didn’t accurately reflect the vibrancy and passion of Watershed or the wide variety of activities and opportunities we offer that make us special.

We had great content such as filmmaker Q&As, short films, talks and the like over on DShed, and iShed - our research and development arm - produces some brilliant work. With the old website, it was really difficult for us to shout about it all in addition to publishing the programme of events and screenings: things became tacked on to a website that just wasn’t working for us – or for you – anymore.

What we’ve tried to do is to bring it all back home. We’ve kept what worked on the old website (namely buying tickets, the calendar, the what’s on section), pages we knew were useful for our customers, but hopefully we’ve made more connections and added some interesting content.

We’ve worked really hard to provide a site we hope you can both use and enjoy. We want people to discover us: there's so much more here than simply buying tickets and leaving.

This is by no means the end – it’s very much a work in progress as there are so many more elements we want to add, and we know we won’t get it all right immediately. That’s why it’s important for you to tell us what you think: good, bad, or anything in between, we want to hear it.

Have a proper look around and see what you think. Please leave a comment below or email communications@watershed.co.uk to help us and be part of this process.

Big thanks for all your support and loyalty,

Louise Gardner
Head of Communications and Development
