Every Friday 10:00 – 17:00 we are excited to welcome anyone who is interested in arts, technology, and their relationship to society to join us in Pervasive Media Studio.
Whether you’re working on a creative technology project, or just curious about what happens here, you are invited to work from a hot desk and get to know our community. You do not need to know lots about creative technology or be working in a related field to join us in the Studio; if you’re curious about these things, we're happy to welcome you. Our community includes all kinds of people – artists, facilitators, academics, producers, technologists and more.
There's no need to book, just come straight to the Studio on Watershed’s first floor. If you aren’t sure where to find us, please ask at Box Office or the Café & Bar for directions.
On Open Studio Fridays, you are welcome to:
- Hot desk - use a desk to work from that day (free wifi available)
- Grab hot drinks from our kitchenette whilst working here (donations welcome)
- Chat informally to the Studio team and residents working that day
At 13:00 we ask everyone who is in the Studio that day to join us in our Event Space for our free weekly Lunchtime Talk (approx 60 mins). Expect engaging speakers from both the Studio and our wider community covering a whole range of projects and subjects related to Creative Technology. Talks are informal enough that you can bring your lunch.
* We do recommend booking Lunchtime Talk tickets in advance as they continue to be popular, but feel free to take a punt and join us as there usually tends to be room. You can book on the individual event pages for each talk.
We look forward to welcoming you.

Our values
When spending time at Pervasive Media Studio, we ask that you behave in a way that aligns with our inclusive values. You can read more about these on our Visit, Access & Behaviour page.
Accessibility
The Studio is wheelchair accessible.
There are Trans+ inclusive toilets. There is also one self-contained accessible toilet, for disabled people of all genders, with baby changing facilities. You can find everything you may need to know about toilets at Watershed here.
The last talk of every month is BSL interpreted. A captioned version of each talk is also available online after the live talk.
We have a dedicated quiet room where there is low lighting, sofas, bean bags and space to lie down. This is away from the general open space of the Studio.
We also have some adjustable desks for working at different heights and some stand up desks available as well. We also have a dedicated quiet desks area, which all visitors are welcome to use.
We have a single desktop computer available if you would prefer to watch the talk on that or use it for anything you are working on. This is allocated on a first come, first served basis.
