We Are Here

Season

Please note : this season finished in Nov 2019

Join us as we go exploring queer spaces through film this November with this stunning and diverse selection of LGBTQ+ cinema from across the world.

Indulge in favourites such as Liza Minnelli in Cabaret and Julie Andrew’s Victor/Victoria alongside a rich programme including documentary Dykes, Camera Action! and a panel discussion exploring LGBTQ+ life away from Hollywood’s spotlight. Culminating in a special 25th anniversary showing of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the season serves as its own adventure through past LGBTQ+ stories and hopes for the future.

Come and celebrate the vibrancy of LGBTQ+ cinema via travels through nightclubs, the film industry and beyond as we capture the multi-faceted meaning of being ‘at home’ in the LGBTQ+ community.

This season is curated by Julia Ray, a UWE MA Curating student on placement at Watershed and mentored by Cinema Curator Mark Cosgrove and the Watershed team.
